A Bit About Me

I have been living in Ashford with my family for many years now. I have many friends here. Ashford is a beautiful town, busy high street, many churches which are regularly attended, over-prescribed schools, Residence and business community are the most friendIiest, in comparison to other towns I have lived in.

I have worked in several industries mainly in the pharmaceutical, food, education and information technology industries. And for the last ten years I have been working in the Further Education Sector. I am aware of 14-19 and 19+ agenda.

Throughout my life I have held various roles in community related organisations. Raising money for Northwick Park Hospital for the Baby Unit, Dr Barnardos Children's Appeal, Motor Neurone disease, ROKO Breast Cancer Appeal to various other charities. I have also been involved with various activities with Youth work organisations to student life, Health & wellbeing for staff, Children with Special Educational Needs to project manage sporting activities for young and old. I am also a cricket coach at work. I am hoping that I will continue to serve the community even after I retire from active duty.

I have been a Governor at a further education college for the last 3 years. I am also the Group Chairman of a local Scout Group, where I am helping young children and teenagers to acquire educational support and help with homework, sporting and life skills and as a Branch Chairman of Ashford East & Commons (Ashford & Sunbury) Branch of the Conservative Party where my aim is to continue to help local people collectively and to improve the quality of their lives in Ashford and in the Borough of Spelthorne.

I believe that our youngsters need better support and guidance through good quality teaching and learning provisions, supported local activities for our youngsters so that they become good and productive citizens of our lovely country. Locking them up and throwing away the key is not the answer.

Our senior citizens should be properly looked after, too many words and no action has been the general case, no matter who gets in power. Our senior citizens should be allowed to live and enrich their lives with dignity and respect. Our elders must not be considered as a burden on society, but in fact a blessing. Their years’ experience and wisdom should be made use of, through their active involvement in local matters.

One of my aims is to be part of a successful team that will be creating employment opportunities through active listening, actively guiding and actively supporting small and big businesses in and around the vicinity of Spelthorne, therefore bringing choice to our residents. The Golden rule is to learn from my mistakes and don’t repeat them again and again. The satisfaction that I get in helping and serving the community, I don’t get it doing anything else apart from activities and time spent with my family, of course.
